Kyle Maynard

Few events at Celina High School have been as impactful and meaningful for the entire student body as our assembly was yesterday (10.9.12).  For 60 minutes, motivational speaker, quadruple amputee, and inspirational figure, Kyle Maynard, captivated our student body of over 800 students.  Kyle's message was simple -- everyone has obstacles, some more obvious than others, and we ALL have the capacity to overcome those obstacles.  It's all about our choices, desire, and drive.  Kyle challenged the students and faculty to find their "Why" -- their purpose in life and where they are headed.

As someone pointed out after the assembly, Kyle has transformed himself from a tragedy at birth (born with no arms or legs) to a national treasure -- someone who is living life to the fullest and spreading a positive message to so many people despite his circumstances.

Below is a video from ESPN that lends some insight into Kyle's message and his life.  Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about Kyle's message and what they took away from the talk.
