You missed a lot if you weren't at Monday night's CHAMP meeting!
In addition to the principal's update, found below in a slide presentation (not as good as hearing Mr. Luebke live though!), you missed a collection of technology artifacts (see picture at right), a collection of old yearbooks -- one from each decade back to 1946 (pictured at left), a collection of athletic artifacts (see a picture here), and a collection of new 'motivational' pictures featured in the high school office. On a side note, these 'motivational' pictures will soon be featured on the CHS Facebook page.
CHAMP also gave updates on their organization, including the opportunity to purchase the well-known CHAMP card for $5 at any Celina City Schools office and good at a number of local businesses for discounts. For more on CHAMP, visit their page on www.celinaschools.org or on Facebook.
Oh yeah... and you missed warm cookies and milk! And they were delicious!
Junior (morning) Tri Star classes are cancelled on a 2-hour delay. Juniors should report to CHS by 11:15 AM for their 4th period class. Because of our delay schedule, those Junior students will be released at 1:25 after their 5th period class.
We have NO ADVISORY on the 2-hour delay schedule.
If you are not receiving the Leader Alert messages for delays and cancellations, please visit http://goo.gl/OC8W6 to sign up. You can choose to receive phone calls on any phone and also have the option to receive text messages and emails.
Monday night will bring the 1st CHAMP Meeting of the new school year. The theme is 'Something Old, Something New'. We will talk about the progression of technology in education throughout the years and the new technology now in place at the high school. In addition, there will be new artwork from the art department on display, an exhibit of some treasured artifacts from CHS, and warm cookies & milk.
Don't miss this fun (and satisfying) meeting!

Today, officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 57th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Celina High School is proud to announce that two of those students are in the CHS class of 2012.
Seniors Elise Elston and Justin Hoffman (pictured below) have the distinct honor of being National Merit Semifinalists. Congratulations & good luck to the two of them as they proceed in the competition. More details about the Merit Scholarship program is below.
These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $34 million that will be offered next spring. About 90% of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and more than half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.
